The Mercury2 is sold in eight hardware classes categorized by the features required for each application. The advantage is that basic applications is sold cheaper than more complex applications. These features can be activated or changed over the internet which eliminates time lost and courier costs. This makes it viable to have these units in stock at low entry cost and activate the features later when the project is started. The PC Tuning software is standard for all units. Certain features will be blanked out if it is not available. The firmware categories are Micro, Basic, Standard, Intermediate, Advance, Ultimate, Commercial and Racing. Not all the products have firmware for all the hardware classes but if a product has n higher hardware class, then all the lower firmware classes will operate on it. In the sub folders are charts for each product with guidance to what each class can do. To be more secure look at the firmware available for the Mercury2 and which class is required. Or speak to one of our dealers. Below is a link that take you to the list on the firmware. TCU Program Numbers Note that the Program Number list compare Mercury2 vs Orion features. Below is a sample entry in the list. You can click on the program number (7) if it is blue. This means that firmware is developed for Mercury2 or Orion or both. This will open a feature comparison chart between Mercury2 and Orion and then also a hardware class comparison for each product. The Red and Green X indicates for which product the firmware is available. If the block is gray, then it means that product will not have that firmware. If it is open, then firmware may be developed in the future. See below.
