Locking a device means entering a 6-digit password into the device. It will then require that password to unlock it and retrieve the tuning information. There is no master password so ensure you save a copy of that MAP or password for future reference in case of a device fail and you need to clone it with the same data Map.
If a device is locked and you don’t have the password, you may load another map into the device to enable tuning again.
Note: The previous maps will then be cleared from flash memory. It is not retrievable.
When you are finished tuning and you want to lock your ECU you can click on the Lock button. Enter your 6-digit password twice and press ok.
Your device is locked. Close the software.
When you connect to an ECU that is locked the software will require this password. It does not matter in which map the ECU is at the time.
If you enter the password, it will unlock the ECU for as long as the software is connected to the device. If you save to device, then the password will be cleared and the ECU will be open for future connections. If you don’t save to device the password will be reinstalled.
If you don’t have the lock password, press Cancel. You now have the opportunity to load a new map and cloning the ECU. Note that this will clone the device to that map, meaning that your existing data will be gone. Then all settings will have to be reset. As a precaution, disconnect all the output cables from the device to minimize damage due to incorrect output layout.
You may load an open map into the device to unlock it. Remember to go through all your settings as with a Start-up Procedure.
