Each TCU has the ability to wire 2 push button switches for Tiptronic functions. When the Map is set to operate in Tiptronic mode, these buttons will give the driver the option to shift the transmission manually to his command. On the Ver 3.3A firmware their function can be changed to overdrive and 2nd gear start.
There are a couple of variations to the buttons but all wire in the same connections on the TCU. Please view the relevant drawings for that. Spitronics also sell a remote wireless version to build into the steering wheel and without the need for connecting wires.
