The Mercury Idle Control is designed to control small stepper idle motors. There are 2 types namely Type 1 for 4 coil common steppers mostly found with Toyota engines and Type 2 for Bi-Polar steppers mostly found on GM engines. This unit is micro based and receive an open or close signal from the ECU. Idle control is done in loop mode by the ECU. It is used as an add-on to expand the ECU’ outputs.
