Handshake ECU with TCU

The Orion ECU can be interfaced with Orion TCU to make wiring less complex. Sensors like TPS could be shared. The TCU also requires an RPM signal and it is connected to the RPM output of the ECU. This is calibrated in the ECU and TCU. The TCU can indicate to the ECU to retard timing during automatic transmission shifts. This will soften the shift making driving more pleasurable. Note how these connections ate interfaced with the TCU.

The TPS input of the ECU is connected to a yellow wire to supply the signal to the TCU input. The ECU will supply the power and ground to the TPS sensor.

The RPM is processed in the ECU and then output to the TCU.

The TCU negative Retard output is taken to the ECU POT input. When the signal goes to negative then the ECU will retard timing to a set level.
