Wi-Fi Module

The Wi-Fi module is a third party module and is used for Apple dash application software from a third party dealer www.realdash.net It can also be used to connect to the Hyperspace tuning software but is not very user friendly. That option will not be supported by Spitronics due to the difficulty. Wi-Fi is faster than Bluetooth but are still used in serial communication mode. Wi-Fi is also more stable and can cover longer distance.

NB!! When connected to the Wi-Fi module the tablet of smartphone will not have access to any data service. Wi-Fi module runs at standard 2.4mhz

Wi-Fi setup

Connect the Wi-Fi module to the device Comms connector. It will receive power from the device when it is switched on. The red LED on the module will light up. This will indicate that the module has power and are ready for pairing.

Open windows Bluetooth manager of your laptop or mobile device. Go to settings, Wi-Fi and select the “Spitronics-00x” module.

The module will ask for a password; password is “12345678”.

Step 2: Connect RealDash. Open RealDash. Tap on the screen and a tab will appear from the top.

Select settings and this screen will appear:

On the Connections tab select Add. Select Spitronics ECU or TCU depending on what is connected to the module.

Select “WIFI/LAN”.

Insert this IP Address “192.168.4.1” and keep the port “8080”.

Complete the remaining settings depending on unit settings.

Select done. The connection is now complete and this will be displayed.

Just go back to main screen and RealDash will now respond to the unit.

Setup is now complete.
