The Orion Bootloader software will only be necessary when the code in the device was corrupted. The new tuning software can also be used for normal programming. Note in the bottom information bar there is an indication if the BootLoader is present. If it is not present, then you will need the USB debug programmer to reinstall it. Older products do not have this ability.

You will require the Bootloader software that can be obtained from our website. It is a file called BootLoader V1.0.0.exe. Connect your Orion to the Laptop with a USB/UART communication cable. Disconnect all the outputs connectors leaving only P1 and the COMMS connector on the unit. This will prevent the unit from switching coils or injectors randomly when you are finished. Switch the Ignition or Simulator on.

Now open the Bootloader Software.

You will see the Device Information with the Program Number that is loaded currently. All the firmware has program numbers for identification.

Now click on the Load Firmware button.

Now guide the browser to the firmware file that you want to load. Make sure the file starts with Orion and has a .firm extension. Click Open.

Click yes and then the file will be downloaded into the Device.

The Device Information will be refreshed and your device is programmed. You can now close the BootLoader.
